Hello all my name is Shari and I'm so thrilled to have you visit my website a place I lovingly refer to as my vacation home. I hope that by visiting My Daily Threadz you find a place of creative comfort where you feel inspired and encouraged to be your most fabulous self! On a personal note Iām a wife, mother of three, professional disabilities counselor, Foodie and lover of all things fashion. For those that know me personally I'm sure it comes as no surprise that I started a blog about my journey back into the world of sewing and fashion. For those that are new to my vacation home, while my starting a fashion/sewing blog is a far cry from my career as a counselor I assure you I have a closer relationship with fashion than you may realize. I actually received a degree in fashion design many, many years ago during my pre-husband and kids era. While I walked away from the industry for over 20 years to raise my family and pursue other career aspirations the desire to create has always been there.
To be honest every year that I wasn't designing and creating the desire grew stronger until I could no longer ignore it. So one day I decided to carve out a space in my home where I could focus on "Shari the designer" not to be confused with "Shari" wife, mom and counselor. My sewing table in the guest bedroom turned out to be a little slice of creative heaven, a space where I could get back to my passion for designing, sewing and creating. As my sewing groove returned I also became more involved in the world of blogging whereby forming amazing relationships with other creatives that have inspired me tremendously.
In the beginning I only wanted to sew and blog for fun with no expectation of starting a business or reaching out to the masses; but the response to what I was doing was amazingly wonderful so I decided to take the next step and see how it goes. I have to be honest things were tough and for a while it felt overwhelmingly impossible. I had no clue of the importance of taking great pictures, being consistent, writing in my own voice and only displaying my garments in the best possible light. But I'm a firm believer that perseverance and hard work will eventually pay off and today I can happily report that it did! After two and a half years of hard work the My Daily Threadz, LLC & Nina Ramel brands were born thus paving the way for me to immerse myself back into the industry that I truly love. With that being said I invite you to kick off your shoes, sit a spell and explore the world of blogging, sewing, and fashion with me.
