Happy creative Wednesday sewing family! It’s been a long Holiday weekend but unfortunately it didn’t really feel that long to me! Lol Why is it that I somehow feel more tired than I normally would when I only have a so called two days off? None the less as my grandmother use to say “God Willing and the Creek don’t Rise” I press on as I am constantly inspired to reach that next level of creative fulfillment.
This past weekend while I did work hard I have to admit it was the kind of work I truly enjoy doing. I had a photo shoot with three of my favorite people on Saturday and the best part was I didn’t have to model. I spent the majority of my time behind the scenes with my favorite photographer Jerome Ming Lee of JML photography. I had an absolute blast looking at my work from a different perspective as I watched his vision come to life. I can’t wait to share the fruits of our labor with you later this week so I hope you tune in to check us out!
Meanwhile back in the studio I was frantic mess trying to think of something to do with all the fall fabrics I purchased that are still sitting on my shelves. After all spring is quickly approaching and I hate having left over fabric from previous seasons staring back at me as if to say “What’s the Hold UP?” So I decided to gather all my suede, leather and sweater fabrics place them on the cutting table with my pattern boxes and stay there until I figured out what I was going to do. Needless to say it didn't take long before I decided on a few projects and quickly got to work. The first thing I completed was a wine faux suede one shoulder top along with a pair of faux leather liquid leggings. Chile when I say liquid that is exactly what I mean! The good thing is this particular faux leather moves and gives making them ultra-comfortable while being fantastically chic. I love everything about this fun little ensemble especially how simple it was to make for someone who doesn't have a lot of time. Well lovelies I have tons of Fall Fabric to get through so hand in there with me as I share more of what I call my “Fall Finale” over the next week or so. I hope you enjoy what I came up with for today and don’t forget to tune in later this week as I share pics from this past weekend’s photo-shoot.
Big Hugs
Shari
