"Anything is possible with sunshine and a little PINK!"

Hello lovely sewing family and happy Monday to you all! I hope everyone had a nice long holiday weekend filled with good food, drinks, fun and most of all family. There’s nothing like a nice long weekend to make you want another nice long weekend! LOL I mean really is it just me or was it hard for anyone else to get it together this morning? WHEW!
While I didn’t have any major plans scheduled for the weekend it was nice just winging it, doing whatever I felt like doing be it sewing, hanging out with my hubby and kids or throwing some goodies on the grill. All in all I had a relaxing yet very productive weekend and for that I’m grateful! Now let’s get to the business at hand “WHAT DID I SEW” which is one reason many of you come hang out with me here at my second home (the blog). So I’m cooling out in my sewing room listening to smooth jazz when all of a sudden this mellow groove by Janet Jackson comes on called “No Sleep.” Mind you I have no idea what she is saying because her voice is so soft but the beat with sounds of the ocean playing in the background really had me loving this groove.
As I listened to the beat I envisioned soft free flowing fabrics of vibrant colors dancing around in my head. Now Janet is still crooning yall, when I thought to myself, I know exactly what I want to do and I have the perfect fabric for it! I knew I wanted something simple yet chic, free flowing with vibrant colors that catch the sun and give life to all those that see it! So I decided on this fantastically chic and simple floor length halter dress with accenting gold choker. I must say I love how it turned out and will definitely make more of these babies to help me deal with the blistering heat we’ve been experiencing here in California. Well loves I hope you enjoy the pics and short little video snippit of me in my dress feeling Janet Jackson’s new groove “No Sleep.”
Hugs
Shari
This simple dress is so easy and can be achieved by using the slash & Spread method (as seen on my DIY & Tutorial page) using any halter top you choose. You can also drape this simple dress on your own personal dress form which I will show you how to do in my next youtube video post coming up this month! Stay Tuned!
