Ohhhhh How I long for Crisp Cold Air, Comfy Sweaters, Boots & All Things Fall!
~This California Girl~
Hello Sewing Loves! I know I’ve been MIA for the last four days but trust me it was not without reason. Sometimes I have to remind others that everything I do is not always perfect no matter how hard I try. There are times when the plan in my head sounds great and I run with it full speed ahead, only to realize it just AIN’T gone work! Yes I said AIN’T! Such was my sewing ideas this past weekend! I mean I really, really tried to make them work especially considering how much fabric I had already invested in said projects. Unfortunately the ideas in my head didn’t match my fabric choices thus I had to scrap quite a bit of work and head back to the drawing board. As a result I didn’t have any of the fabulous pieces I planned to share with you this week hence my MIA status for the past couple of days.
Now I know I could have thrown something together or blogged about any number of things but I have this bad habit of wanting to blog about things I love and feel will inspire you in some way shape or form. So rather than put up any old thang, I decided to go back to the drawing board and create something simple yet chic in order to redeem myself. LOLL Since everyone seems to be sewing capes, shawls, ponchos and halfsies (you know those half cape half jacket or vest things) I decided to finally break down and create one myself. Turns out I actually like this particular design a lot more than I thought I would. This design is so simple and easy to recreate that even the newbie sewer will confidently walk away knowing they created something Fabulous! I promise to work on a DIY-Info Sheet with pictures and step by step instructions to post on the blog for all my sewing loves over the weekend. Until then I hope you have a fabulous rest of the week and don’t forget to check back in for the Fabulous DIY!
Hugs
Shari
