“Life is all about timing! The unreachable becomes reachable, the unavailable become available, the unattainable…attainable. Have the patience, wait it out it’s all about timing.”

Hello sewing loves and happy hump day! Yes we are halfway through the week and I’m trying to figure out where the time went! Of course you know my life like many of yours is busy, busy, busy! I have so much going on at work and with the blog/Nina Ramel brand that my head is spinning. LOLThe one thing I have to say that I’ve missed these last couple of weeks is actually getting my sewing projects done.
Currently I have about five projects cut and ready to go but I just haven’t had the time to get them done. My plan was to make that happen over the long weekend but somehow my family had other ideas in mind so there went those plans. I swear the ideas in my head are starting to get crowded screaming to get out but I have to hush them for now as I simply don’t have the time. So in order to get rid of some this creative energy (outside of what I’m doing for the Nina Ramel Collection) I’ve decided to keep it simple and work on projects that are fun but easy to create in a couple of hours tops!
Doing simple yet chic pieces is my thing anyway but I’m talking about super simple projects that are driven by the fabric more than the design. So today I’m sharing a simple pencil skirt and flared top that perfectly display this fabulous scuba fabric I purchased from The Fabric Shop located in La Puente. The look and feel of this scuba is amazing and while they only had 2 yard pieces left I decided to purchase it anyway and make it work for me! Well I guess I don’t have to tell you that it worked out great and I absolutely love the results. This fabric was an absolute steal and I almost feel guilty for taking it all! Like I said I almost feel guilty! LOLL Anyhoo sewing loves I have to get ready to rush off to a meeting so until next time have a great rest of the day! SMOOCHES!
Hugs
Fabric:
Is a light weight scuba print I purchased from "The Fabric Shop" in La Puente
For the top:
I used Simplicity 8128 and modified it to my liking using slash & spread of course!
For the skirt:
I simply took my measurements and drafted a pencil style with waistband myself. If interested go to my DIY & Video page and follow the directions for the flare skirt stopping at the knee! If you have questions or get stuck please feel free to email me at mydailythreadzme1@gmail.com
