"Everything has its beauty, but not everyone sees it!"

Okay so I think I’m almost done with my project Saturday afternoon and I realize I made a big snafu! Hello sewing loves yes we all have our moments and this weekend I had several of them. I wanted so badly to finish at least three sewing projects but unfortunately I found myself meticulously working on this one simple little dress. Not because it was difficult, I simply wasn’t paying attention to details as a result of trying to speed through the process. Consequently I ended up spending triple the amount of time it would normally take to finish this simple little dress! Here’s a hint don’t watch ID television when you’re really trying to get some sewing done! LOL
One of the major mishaps that occurred during my sewing Butterick 4443 was forgetting to install my must have pockets. Now keep in mind this dress does not come with pockets but it is a must detail for me considering how simple the dress is. Not to mention the fact that I just love having pockets! So not only did I forget to add them but I was in the process of attaching the skirt to the bodice when I realized it. WHAT! ARE YOU KIDDING ME! How could I forget to add the one thing I love the most! MY POCKETS! After getting over the fact that I already serged my side seams shut I settled in on my sofa and got to work undoing all the work I just completed. Yes family I wanted the pockets so bad that I actually cut the overlocked edges on the skirt so I could add them in.
In the end the pockets that I simply had to have turned out perfect and I do not regret my decision to add them despite the cost! I mean seriously what’s a girl to do with a fabulous dress awesome accessories but NO POCKETS! I mean I’ve always said that anything worth having is worth working for, just not working so hard for next time. Anyhoo she’s all done and I love her pockets and all! Enjoy the pics family and if you haven’t thought about giving this awesomely easy pattern a try you may want to consider it.
P.S. Don’t forget the POCKETS!
Hugs
This time I decided to add length to Butterick 4443 so it would sweep the FLOOR! This pattern is so easy that even beginner sewers will breeze through the process. I will forever keep this pattern and I will definitely make it one of my go to summer staples!
The Fabric is a medium weigh 2-way Stretch denim that I purchased from The Fabric Shop in La Puente, California. OH how I wish they had more of this but unfortunately they are sold out! SHUCKS!
For the pockets I took my own pocket pattern and added it to this skirt but you can take any standard side pocket piece from another pattern and utilize it here.
