"Getting My Sewing Mojo Back!"
~me~
I'm often asked how long I've been sewing and how long it took for me to reach my current sewing level. Well it's definitely been a journey and after several broken needles and botched projects I'm feeling pretty good about my progress. I only recently rediscovered my passion for sewing and all things fashion a couple of years ago. Prior to that I hadn't sewn a stitch for approximately twenty, yes twenty or more years! You know the old saying "Use it or Lose it" well it was true in my case. It didn't all come back to me right away; it actually took some time to get my sewing mojo back.
I want to encourage all those newbie's (our inside nick-name for beginners) out there to keep going, you can and will get there! Please believe me when I tell you that I still have my blunders from time to time but as long as the fabric stores stay open and the inspiration keeps coming I will sew on! So with that being said I decided to post a few picture of the very first maxi skirt I made. I was so proud of this skirt when I finally finished it I actually sent pictures to all my family! It just felt good to get back in there and actually create something again! While I would definitely do a better job of tackling this project today I still find myself smiling whenever I look at it!
Hugs
