Off the shoulder Baby Doll Top! Hello sewing loves today I’m bringing you my version of the off the shoulder lace baby-doll top! A couple of days ago I made a quick stop at Jo-Ann Fabrics to pick up a few patterns that were on sale. Now it would have been great if I had the discipline to run in and out with just the items on my list but unfortunately I’m not!
You see this week they also had some great fabrics on sale one in particular that was pretty hard to pass up. Normally I don’t buy fabric from these chain stores because it can be a little pricey compared to those in the fabric district where I usually shop. This time however would prove different as a beautiful cream colored lace quick caught my eye. Of course I had no plan to purchase any fabric as I stated but I swear I heard this lace calling my name! I swear I did! I quickly told myself “you’re just looking not buying.” Well I guess you know how that turned out as I’m here today blogging about my new lace top! LOL
I knew I wanted a girly hippie type top with lots of movement that could be styled in several ways. My first thought was to have a really full top with a perfectly round hem at the bottom but this idea quickly changed the more I played around with the fabric. So I ended up making this cute and versatile off the shoulder number that I absolutely love. I have a little bit more fabric left over that I plan to use for a dress that I plan to finish later on in the week along with a quick and easy tutorial that I will paste on the “DIY & Video” page of the blog! I hope you enjoy the pictures and remember to check back for the how-to video!
Hugs
