"Life isn't perfect but your outfit can be"

Happy Tuesday Threaders! Well I’m back from my mini vacation well rested and ready to get some sewing done. I want to take a brief moment to thank each and every one of you who left your well wishes and congratulatory messages regarding my graduation here on the blog and my Facebook page. Smooches to you all!
Before leaving on vacation I introduced some changes that I made to a Threadz favorite the long panel blouse I featured on several of my social media outlets. Unfortunately I must announce that I have made my last and final version of this blouse and will be retiring this pattern for good. For my last and final showing of the panel blouse I used a fabulous print I purchased from one of my favorite vendors in downtown Los Angeles. The fabric itself is a light weight knit blend full of vibrant strong hues on a black background that enhance the colors throughout the design. This knit has a four way stretch, is very light in weight and is extremely cool making it perfect for those summer days/nights. The only downside to this fabric is that there wasn’t more of it available to purchase!
Prior to cutting my pattern I had to determine which would be the best way to cut the fabric to ensure that the design was evenly distributed throughout the garment. Instead of cutting the blouse on the fold I decided to cut new pattern pieces on the fold thus allowing me to strategically cut the design of the fabric exactly as I wanted. By taking the time to do this extra step the results of my final panel blouse were fabulous. Needless to say I am very pleased with the outcome and even more so with the wonderful photographs taken by JML photography. I hope you enjoy what I’ve done with the blouse and that I’ve inspired you to maybe give this design a try!
