Giving BLUE life to my wardrobe!
“Blue color is everlastingly appointed by the Deity to be a source of delight!”
~John Ruskin~
Good Monday morning Lovelies! I hope you had an enjoyable weekend and you are ready to get back to the grind! This weekend was all about relaxing and just hanging out with family and friends with very little time being spent in my sewing room. I did however manage to crank out two quick looks for the week to share with you here on the blog.
There was something in the air this weekend that was very calming, causing me to sit back and reflect on many things both business and personal. In doing so I started cleaning my office and reorganizing my fabric stash when I noticed a vibrant blue ITY knit folded on the bottom shelf. I pulled out the knit and began playing around with it on sistah girl (my dress-form) when out of nowhere a specific look began to take shape in my mind. Oh how I love it when this happens! When I noticed how the fabric draped in the front and hugged the curves of the form at the same time I thought, why not create two separate pieces.
Well as luck would have it, I happened to have everything needed to bring this look into fruition already in my stash. So I took out my supplies and went to work! While the vibrant blue color of this fabric is fantastic, what strikes me most about this look is the versatility of the pieces and their ability to stand alone beautifully. I love it when I’m able to mix things I make with pieces I already have in my closet allowing me to create an entirely different look. To me that’s what fashion and sewing is all about, taking pieces/styles that you love, mixing it up and making it your own. I can definitely see these two pieces adding just the right touch of BLUE life to my already fabulous wardrobe!
Hugs
