“Style Is A Simple Way of Saying Complicated Things”
~author unknown~
Happy hump-day lovelies!!! Here we are at the middle of the week already! I’m so excited about this week’s blog topic and the response I’ve received from so many of you that I could hardly wait to post today’s look! Now remember this week is all about coordinating and interchanging basic pieces to create several different looks. In a way today’s look is all about saying something complicated in a very simple way!
I’m a big fan of the pencil skirt and thought to myself what a great way to utilize more of that fabulous blue fabric by incorporating another simple piece that will stand great alone or with the high-low bishop sleeve top I shared with you on Monday. For this look I decided to add a tad of feminine softness with this very simple cream summer top and long hanging accessories. The top is achieved by drawing an opal shaped circle, carving out armholes, adding thin spaghetti type straps and is very simple to make. There was no commercial pattern used for this top but pending the response a tutorial may be on the horizon. Well sewing family in keeping with the spirit of our quote for the day I’m going to keep this post simple and end by saying, Be the best you, you can be after all everyone else is already taken!
Hugs
For this skirt you can use the drafting method shared on the "Knowledge is Power" post dated November 7, 2014 or you can use the flare skirt tutorial I have on the video page and stop at the knee measurement for the same exact look! Trust me it works every time! I draped the top pattern and have a tutorial posted on the Video page.
