“I don’t see boundaries between styles, such as modern or contemporary. I’ve collected each piece from a different experience or period of my life.”
~Carlos Miele~
Good morning beautiful people! Today is hump day and we are one step closer to a long holiday weekend. I am truly looking forward to the weekend as I hope to get some serious sewing done. If you’ve been following the blog you know I’ve been working on all things fall over the past several weeks. Well I have to admit I’m nowhere near done! There’s so much to do and so much inspiration out there that my list keeps getting longer and longer. Thus I decided it was time to get organized and really take a look at what I needed as opposed to what I wanted.
So this past weekend I went through my closet in preparation for our California Fall (still HOT), when I realized just how much sewing I actually completed over the summer. It literally took several hours (in between having fun with family) to actually go through and pack away everything from spring and summer. Of course living in Sunny Southern California I could continue to wear most of what I packed away until late November or December but I choose to go through this process as a way of psyching myself out for seasons I’m fully aware may never come.
As I painstakingly went through the task of cleaning out my closet I thought, why not pull some of my existing fall items and think of ways to breathe new life into them. You would be surprised at how easy and cost effective it can be to reinvent your wardrobe by adding a few simple yet chic additions. A great way to accomplish this is by taking stock of what you already have and incorporating a few new pieces that speak to your unique style. I believe I took a step in the right direction by creating pieces that not only exude Fall but also speak to who I am as a woman, wife and mom. While I still have tons of work to do in preparation for Fall I’m pleased with my progress thus far. Well, that’s going to do it for me today lovelies. I hope you have a wonderful sew filled weekend and I'll see you next week.
Hugs
