More California Fall!
“I want everyone to wear what they want and mix it in their own way. That, to me is what is modern.”
~Karl Lagerfeld~
Good Monday Morning lovelies! Today is a fabulous day! I’m so glad to be here blogging and sharing all things sewing with you today! This weekend was all about hanging out with my family and having some much needed alone time with my hubby! It’s good every once in a while to just take a step back from all the social media/blogging stuff and just love on the ones who willingly share their wife, mom, sister and daughter with the world. Thankfully I had had some reserve items I completed last week to share with all of you here on the blog so I was ready to hang out all weekend long with my loves (i.e., family)!
As I continue to work on my California Fall items I decided to share more of the cowl neck designs I’ve been working on. It is very easy to get carried away and over do it when styling garments with dramatic cowl necklines; hence simplicity is definitely the key in my book when it comes to this particular style. By adding and or removing a fabulous jacket one can transition from day to evening in a flash with this dress.
In creating this dress my goal was to show that it really doesn’t take much to switch things up when you start with a great foundational piece. Having classic foundational pieces that stand the test of time (fab pencil skirt, great tailored jacket, black pumps, transition dress, etc.) to pair with your more seasonal or trendy items is key to being able to maximize your wardrobe. I believe this dress will be a great addition to my fall foundational pieces because its simplistic yet classic style transcends time. Well lovelies I have a ton of work staring me in the face so that’s going to do it for me today! I hope you enjoy the pictures and if nothing else you are inspired to get out there and sew something.
Hugs
I draped this Pattern myself and transferred to pattern paper! May do tutorial for this look soon depending on the demand!
