“Power is gained by sharing knowledge not hoarding it!”

Hey loves happy Tuesday!! I’m so busy right now getting ready for my business trip that I haven’t had a chance to work on the rest of my Spring pieces for this week. As a result I thought it would be great to share a really cool resource I believe will be helpful for those who want to draft their own pattern blocks but simply don’t know how. Let’s be honest it’s great for anyone who would love a quick easy way to create a pattern block be it for themselves or a particular client. The fact is once you have the basic pattern blocks at your disposal your creative options are endless!
After sharing the lavender jumpsuit I made and posted last week on the blog I received countless emails requesting assistance with drafting and manipulating personal and commercial pattern blocks. Well loves, since I didn’t want to commit to something I’m not sure I have time to do right now I decided to reach deep down in my bag of resource tricks and share something that would eliminate me having to shoot a lengthy video but still fulfill the wishes of my lovely sew family at the same time. One resource I found some time ago was a pattern making websource called www.makemypattern.com hosted by fabulous gentleman by the name of Joost. Joost lives in Antwerp and works in Brussels which he refers to as the heart of Europe. While Joost originally started this site as a way of helping gentlemen discover their inner tailor, he would eventually add a few blocks for women to the site do to overwhelming response.
While there are currently just a few pattern blocks for women available on his site I strongly recommend that anyone interested in being able to create their own basic pattern block in a matter of minutes go check Joost out! The only thing required for creating your quick and easy pattern block is your personal measurements, paper for printing it out and tape for piecing it together (just like Burda Style printable patterns). Trust me family it really is as easy as it sounds I promise! Of course as with anything it may not be for everyone (although I don’t know why it wouldn’t) it’s definitely worth checking out. Well loves that’s going to do it for me today! I hope you find this information useful and that you seriously consider giving this awesome resource a shot.
XOXO
Shari
Go Check it OUT! www.makemypattern.com!
