"Spring Is A Time To Find OUt Where You Are, Who You Are & Move Toward Where You Are Going"
~Penelope Trunk~
Hello Loves happy Monday! I’m so glad to be making my way back to work, sewing, my blog and all of you. It has been a tough three weeks and while I’m not a hundred percent it feels good to finally be turning the corner. I’m taking it slow so I will only be posting once a week for the next month per my doctors instructions. Nevertheless as long as I can get back to my machine and my studio I will take it! LOLLL This past week I entered my studio for the first time and I have to admit as awesome as it was it took me a minute to get my sewing legs back. What would normally take me a couple of hours took a couple of days but hey I made it through and I have this fun 70’s inspired jumper to share with you.
Nothing says Spring like the vibrant colors displayed in this light yet fun fabric I purchased a couple of weeks ago. As soon as I saw this fabric I knew it would be perfect for this jumper and as luck would have it, it was. The fabric was a steal at two dollars a yard from one of my favorite vendors Angel Textiles in downtown Los Angeles. Of course when I returned to purchased more of the fabric a week later it was completely sold out. I guess great minds think alike! LOL To achieve this halter jumpsuit I merged two patterns together Butterick 4807 and New Look 6184 as shown in the pictorial below. The New Look pattern is a dress that I cut two inches below the waistline and merged with the pants pattern to create a one-piece front & back pattern prior to cutting it out. I didn’t follow the commercial sewing instructions for either pattern, as the pieces are pretty self-explanatory. However for all the newbie sewers who aren’t really sure where to start I would suggest following the instructions for the pants and carrying that through to the halter. I promise it’s simple Loves but should you get stuck just remember I’m only an email away! Well loves that’s going to just about do it for me today, enjoy the pictures and have a fabulous rest of the week.
Big Hugs
Shari
