“Fashion is a playground up until a certain age, but then you have to find your own signature and your own style”

Good Morning/Afternoon depending on where you live loves! Well it’s been a truly hectic couple of weeks as I prepare for my first ever Meet & Greet and closet sale. There are so many things to do both big and small that my mind is truly on overload. I can hardly sleep because every time I close my eyes I think of something else I need or want to do for the event. I have tons of designs in my head that I want to prepare for the event but there’s only one of me and unfortunately I don’t think I will have time to do them all. Nevertheless I press forward toward the mark in the hopes of getting as much of it done as I possibly can.
In the meantime trying to sew for the blog and sew for the event has proven to be more than just a notion. So I’ve decided to go ahead and combine the two thus eliminating some of the stress I’ve been feeling over the past couple of days. So to celebrate the occasion I decided to share this open front floor length knit (lycra blend)top in this fabulously vibrant pink color. The HOT vibrant pink color of this fabric absolutely blew me away the moment I laid eyes on it. Seriously I could not take my eyes off of it! I haven’t had fabric speak to me like this in a long time so when I tell you that I knew immediately what I wanted to make with it I truly did!
Everything about this fabric screamed fierce yet romantic, something that would catch the wind cause a dramatic scene a keep folks watchin! YES I SAID Watchin (no “g”). While I love and I do mean love making things just for ME, I decided to play nice and offer this as one of the items for sale at the event. The dress is a size 14 and runs just a tiny bit big but due to the tie that gathers just under the bust I was able to pull it off for the pictures! LOL Now here’s the kicker family; I only purchased enough fabric for one top so unless my husband decides to do me a huge favor during his lunch break this will be the only item in this fabric I have to offer at the event. I know it’s a real bummer because I don’t even have enough to make one for myself SHOOT! Oh well sometimes it works out that way and I’m totally okay with that! Besides if the goal of this event is to clean out my studio in preparation for my new samples then I have to let go of everything including this fabulous floor length top. So get ready all my Cali ladies it will be waiting to go home with one of you on June 27, 2015. Until then I hope you all have a wonderful rest of the week and if you’re in town stop on by the Meet & Greet and say Hi!
Hugs
Shari
I had a Pattern drafter make this Pattern in several sizes especially for My Daily Threadz so unfortunately I do not have a pattern number to share with you! However knowing how creative my sew family is I know you will all figure something out! LOL
