Dedication, hard work and an unremitting devotion to the things you want to see happen.

Hello my dear sewing family I hope everyone had a long fabulous holiday weekend filled with lots of food, family, fun and let's not forget sewing! As for me I did everything but get sewing done this past weekend and I have to say I feel extremely guilty about it now. I really did have the best intentions this past weekend but with my house being in shambles after sending my daughter away to college and rearranging all of the bedrooms I simply never got around to my sewing plans. You will however be happy to know that Yuliya and I finally recorded the next installment of the coaching series Production -vs- Made To Order.
It was great being able to catch up and record with Yuliya this weekend especially considering how busy we both are. We are however very committed to this series and are extremely pleased with the feedback we've received thus far. Please continue to send us your emails and/or post your comments here on the blog as we love hearing from you. The next topic of the series is all about Production and considering we're both experiencing this in our own businesses now we can't wait to discuss this particular topic with all of you. Until then here's today's video including a couple of resources you may want to check out for yourself.
A Few Resources
This is a great little article discussing the very topic we discussed today in regard to purchasing retail fabrics for your business and the reasons we would NOT recommend doing so!

Council of Fashion Designers of America CFDA discussion of creating Relationships in the industry! Wait didn't we talk about this very topic in today's video? Why yes we did!

Lastly one of many Wholesale Fabric Distributors online that you can check out! Now you will need to email them with the style numbers of the fabric that you want for production and they will get back to you with the cost. Now I'm not sure how expensive all of their fabrics are but its definitely worth a shot to find out! If for no other reason it will expose you to how the process works when you can't meet with distributors in person.
