"I don't know where I'm going from here, but I promise it won't be boring"
~David Bowie~
Hello dear sewing loves I'm back and happy Monday! It's been a minute since I've been able to check in with you here but I'm here and ready to share some slayeration with my peeps. Every year around my birthday I plan to sew a few looks for myself, you know just to get the party started but for some reason or another my birthday sewing plans never happen. This year I was determined that nothing was going to stop me from making at least one birthday look for myself and I do mean nothing! This year since I've hit the 50+ and fabulous club I decided I wanted to rock something funky, cool and chic to let these youngsters know I still got it so to speak! LOL
So I thought what better way to bring the funk than with a pair of kick ass bell bottoms and matching duster. Yes I said matching DUSTER! Don't ask me why but for some reason dusters seem to be one of my favorite things these days. Not to mention the fact that I thought it would bring a cool chic kind of vibe to my overall birthday look. Now I will say that the fur accent on the sleeve wasn't a part of my initial plan but I'm kind of feeling it for real! Needless to say this ensemble turned out just as I hoped and I definitely plan on bringing the funky birthday slayeration where ever I decided to celebrate on that day! Well that's it for me today loves check back in with me later this week as I bring more birthday slay to share with you her at the M.D.T! Smooches!
Hugs

For the pants I decided to use an Exclusive Indie Pattern by Athleisure Couture for Bootstrap Fashion Patterns. This patterns is really easy and when I say it rocks the bells it really does. I had to make an adjustment to the pants back (dips downward at waist and centerback) due to that little somethin somethin I got going on back there. LOL Other than that the pattern worked great and I didn't have to make any other changes. For the duster I used the new Simplicity pattern 8553 view C and added fur to the bottom of the sleeve.
The fabric is a fabulous floral scuba I purchased from one of the vendors in downtown Los Angeles. Several vendors have this scuba so for those interested I don't think you'll have a problem finding it. It's light weight and really does feel GREAT!
