"Beauty is in the details but sometimes in the lack of them... Enjoy Simplicity!"

I have been extremely busy this past week writing my final papers, getting ready for graduation and preparing to host a family gathering at my home this weekend. Needless to say I have all this wonderful fabric tons of ideas in my head and no time to really get things done!
So when preparing for my shoot this past weekend I decided to try and keep it very simple. It was all about letting the fabrics and prints speak for themselves. I will admit it was definitely a challenge because my imagination was running wild and I had to keep reining myself in. Sometimes keeping your designs simple yet stylish can be a difficult thing especially when your creative juices are running wild in your head. Steve jobs once said "it’s important to focus on simplicity but you have to work hard to get your thinking clean to make it simple." Boy was he right! Just trying to clear my head of all the other thoughts and design elements was a chore within itself.
Fortunately I was able to focus on the fabric itself realizing the best way to creatively express myself using this print was to use simple clean lines. It is very easy to over design and take it too far when using animal prints especially one such as the leopard design I used to make the maxi dress I'm sharing with you today. All in all what I appreciate most about my experience this past week is understanding that in design even when you say very little it sometimes speaks volumes! Have a great day and remember to GO GET IT!

This Dress is self draped and I have a tutorial posted on the "Video & DIY page and on my youtube channel under "Shari William."
