“Walk like you have three men walking behind you.”
“Every day you have to reinvent yourself”
“You can never be overdressed or overeducated”
“The qualities I most admire in a woman is confidence and kindness.”
~Oscar de la Renta~
It is with heavy hearts that we say goodbye to one of the most iconic designers of our time Mr. Oscar de la Renta. To think of him is to think of beauty, vibrant colors, elegance and timeless one of a kind pieces beyond compare. While he is no longer with us his legacy of unprecedented works of art will live in our hearts forever! Forever missed Never forgotten.
Whenever I think of Oscar de la Renta I think of regal beauty and chic timeless pieces that never go out of style. These are the things I admire most in a garment a simplicity that speaks volumes as it rest and moves on a woman’s form. Some go for the dramatic and while he could definitely bring that as well for some reason I was always drawn to his classic elegant pieces.
I’m often asked what inspires me, what pulls me in and makes me want to create? To be quite honest I’ve always been drawn to timeless beautifully chic pieces that never go out of style. Those pieces that seem to transcend time and surpass every fleeting trend, just like those of the fabulous Oscar de la Renta.
You have inspired me forever!
For top I used Simplicity 1613 added length and altered top from fitted bodice to more relaxed and full look.
For the pants I used Butterick 4807 without the waistband in order to attach the bodice to the pants creating the jumpsuit. The front cover was made using the front pants piece, eliminating the crotch area of the pants and taking the inseam up to the waistline.
Fabric= while the gentleman at Michael Levine's the Loft did not know I believe this is a Rayon Challis as it does have a diagonal and natural give that springs back.
Please feel free to email any questions you may have regarding how to make this jumpsuit to mydailythreadzme1@gmail.com!
