“The best gift around the Christmas Tree is the presence of Family wrapped in love”

Good morning and Happy Holiday’s sewing family! I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend filled with lots of great food and family. While I enjoyed having Thanksgiving dinner with my family and friends this past Thursday I unfortunately came down with a fever and cold Friday night. Thank goodness I have a wonderful husband who quickly nursed me back to health thus I'm happy to report I’m back in full sewing mode and ready to make some things happen.
Once I felt better my mind began to race with all sorts of ideas on how to incorporate the wonderful holiday season into my sewing projects for the blog. Since I absolutely love the shimmer/sparkle and deep rich colors of the season I decided to incorporate them into my holiday looks for the year. Although I recently completed two of the five holiday pieces I’ve been working on, the recent downpour we've been experiencing has prevented me from taking pictures to post on the blog.
So in lieu of me taking pictures wearing my garments as I usually do I’m going to share some quick shots I took yesterday in my nice, dry home studio. The piece I'm sharing with you today is what I commonly refer to as the Macgyver jumpsuit, where I merge different patterns together to achieve a desired design goal. For the top portion of the jumpsuit I used McCalls 6562 (top pattern) and for the bottom I used Butterick 4807 one of my favorite wide leg pants patterns. This jumpsuit screams "Its the Holiday's" and I for one can't wait to put it in party season rotation. I hope the rain stops soon so I can take pics of me actually wearing the jumper but until then here's my take on a simple yet chic holiday jumper. Enjoy!
Hugs
