“Life is always better with a closet full of Tulle, Frills & Glitter!”

WOW! The Holiday’s are over Sew family and I don’t know about you but I’m ready to tackle the New Year! I’m not sure what I’m more excited about, the possibilities the New Year brings or the fact that everything I need to succeed is already in me. I now understand that nothing is missing all my quirks, my sense of style everything that makes me uniquely me can and will lead me down the path of success. With that being said Lovelies I thought it would be great to keep the party going with Tulle, Frills and everything GIRLY!
While I’ve never been big on Tulle Skirts I have to admit they’ve recently grown on me! One reason for my recent change of heart is the versatility of the Tulle skirt. I mean I can literally go from Rock Star to Breakfast at Tiffany’s chic all with the help of this simple skirt. Not to mention the overwhelming urge I have to TWIRL endlessly in circles whenever I wear a tulle skirt. So to celebrate my recent fascination with this fantastically frilly fabric M.D Threadz is declaring this TULLE WEEK! Yes, lovelies this week is all about tackling your fear of frills and tapping into your inner Twirl.
Before getting started one should note that Tulle is typically made from three different materials; silk, rayon and nylon. Although Silk tulle is softer, and works well with clothing applications its typically more expensive than your Rayon or Nylon tulle products. There’s also a fourth type called Bridal Illusion Tulle made from a blend of polyester and nylon which is commonly used for Bridal veils due to its ability to hold shape. For my first project of the week I decided to use a mixture of Gold &Bronze colored Nylon Tulle to achieve a stiff skirt reminiscent of its shorter ever-popular cousin the TuTu! I paired the skirt with a lace up high heel, reddish brown leather jacket and tan boy style t-shirt. I hope you like what I’ve done and maybe just maybe you decide to tap into your inner Twirl and give this skirt a try!
XOXO
