“Be Your Own Kind of Beautiful!”
~me~
Hey Loves! Dare I say it…. Happy Monday! My goodness did that weekend fly by or what? It’s like I went to sleep Friday night and woke up Monday morning sheesh! Oh well no sense crying over spilled milk it’s time to hit the ground running and make it a great week. Although the weekend seemed to whiz by me I did manage to kick out three fabulous sewing projects. I finally finished the Blue look I gave a sneak peak of last week, along with two new summer looks I had been meaning to make for some time.
I was truly in the zone this weekend! Seriously! The only thing that got me out of that studio and away from my machines was a promised date night with my husband. Needless to say I’m always down for date night so he knew exactly what he was doing (great move Mr. Hector)! Anyhoo back to you family and these projects I completed this past weekend. About two weeks ago I picked up some funky textured two way stretch fabric from one of the vendors in downtown Los Angeles. This fabric reminded me of a something you would make sportswear (active sportswear) with and while I had no desire to do that for some reason it interest me so I purchased it. I had no idea what I was going to make with it but since I got it for close to nothing I decided to use it to play around with over the weekend. This fabric is hard to describe so I took a close up of it and posted it below for you to view. The black piping is knit and the nude underlay is a poly-spandex type lining fabric. Again INTERESTING! LOL
Since I knew I would have no problem cutting into this fabric (remember it was a steal) I decided to make three different looks that I plan to share with you over the next two weeks. These looks will include two off the shoulder tops, one pencil skirt, one pair of wide leg pants and one pair of culottes. The deets on how I got the look and what patterns I used are also listed below. Well loves that’s it for me today yup short and sweet. I hope you have a fantabulous day and stay tuned for the BLUE reveal later this week!
Hugs

Pictorial for Slash & Spread Method is on the DIY Page
Top:
I used Simplicity 1613 and used the cut and spread method to create more of a circular shape to the top and sleeves. I will post pictures of the altered pattern pieces on the DIY & Tutorial Page later today.
Pants:
I simply followed the Burda 6966 pattern for these but chose to go with the slim version of the pants in view B.
Stay tuned for the next look using this same fabric coming up!
