Hello sewing loves happy start of a brand new week! It was a long rainy weekend for me in Cali, so while I finished several projects I wasn’t able to take any new pictures for the blog. I did however have pictures from another project I completed for my daughter the week prior and decided today would be the perfect day to share them with all of you.
A couple of weeks ago my mom. sisters and daughter came to visit me and hang out in my studio. While I love having company from time to time the problem with them being in my studio is they take turns going through my clothing racks trying to find anything that will fit them. Of course my daughter is often the loser as she is a size 2 soaking wet and most of what I make ranges from size 10-12. Well during this one visit she lucked out and found a pair of joggers I made a year ago with her in mind. Don’t ask me how I forgot about this particular project but somehow I did. Anyhoo as she jumped for joy and ran behind the changing screen to try them on we all laughed at the fact that she might score her first custom MDT piece. LOLLL Needless to say they fit perfect and she looked great in them to boot.
The pattern I used is strictly for knits but if you know anything about me you know I can be hard headed from time to time. I planned on using a woven blend and knew I would have to size them two sizes larger in order to get the perfect fit for her (especially since the waist was elastic). Yes I knew doing this would be a gamble and NO I would never recommend doing this! LOLL Seriously family don’t be hard headed use the recommended fabric per the pattern envelope, you’ll find that nine times out of ten they know what they’re talking about. As luck would have it, my idea worked (secretly I knew it would) and they fit my daughter perfectly. Again why I hung them on the rack and forgot about them for so long I have no idea but hey all’s well that ends well!
Hugs
Shari
